At Recycled Creations, our workshops are about much more than making something to take home.
They are an opportunity to bring people together, encourage creativity, support wellbeing and help our community discover just how much potential can be found in things we normally throw away.
Our workshops use recycled, reclaimed, donated and unwanted materials wherever possible. We encourage participants to look beyond an object’s original purpose and ask:
“What else could this become?”
No artistic experience is necessary. Our activities can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities, group sizes and community needs.
Monthly Art & Craft Gathering
Our Monthly Art & Craft Gathering is held at Carrara Community Centre and provides a relaxed, welcoming opportunity for people to come together, create and connect.
Rather than a formal art class, the gathering is about sharing ideas, experimenting with materials, learning from each other and enjoying the creative process in the company of like-minded people.
Participants may work on a shared activity, experiment with recycled and repurposed materials, learn a new craft or bring along something they are already creating.
It is a space where conversation and creativity can happen naturally around the table.
The emphasis isn’t on producing the “perfect” artwork. It’s about having a go, learning from one another, connecting with others and enjoying being creative.
Whether you are an experienced creator or someone who simply wants to try something new, you are welcome to come along, meet others and discover where a little imagination might take you.

Our workshops can be offered individually or adapted into programs for community groups, schools, families, seniors, workplaces and organisations.
Waste to Wonder
Discover the possibilities hidden in everyday objects. Participants use materials that may otherwise have been destined for landfill and transform them into imaginative artworks and creations.
Recycled Canvas Art
Transform old or unwanted canvases into completely new artworks using paint, collage, texture and reclaimed materials.
Jar to Joy
Give the humble glass jar another life by transforming jars into lanterns, vases, storage containers, decorations and creative artworks.

Our Recycled Creations De-Stash Markets are about giving unwanted art, craft and creative materials another opportunity to be used and enjoyed.
What is a De-Stash Market?
Most creative people accumulate things.
Fabric left over from an old project. Wool from something we never finished. Paints, brushes, beads, buttons, paper, canvases, frames and all those interesting little things we kept because “one day I might do something with that.”
Eventually, our cupboards become full and many perfectly usable materials are thrown away simply because we no longer need them.
A De-Stash Market gives those materials somewhere else to go.
People can bring along their unwanted art and craft supplies to sell, swap, share or rehome, giving another person the opportunity to turn them into something new.

De-stashing also makes creativity more affordable.
Not everyone has the budget to continually purchase new art and craft supplies. Reusing and sharing materials can help make creativity more accessible while reducing unnecessary consumption.

Where possible, Recycled Creations also wants to encourage useful excess materials to find their way to community organisations, creative groups, schools, kindies and other groups that may be able to use them.
