Welcome to Recycled Creations!
We are delighted to have you join our creative community, where friendship, imagination and sustainability come together.
Recycled Creations was born from a shared passion of Jelena Willis and Vicki Colwell, who both love discovering the hidden potential in everyday objects that others may no longer want or need.
We believe that just because something has been discarded doesn’t mean its story has ended. Through recycling, repurposing and reusing unwanted items, we can transform forgotten treasures into something beautiful, practical or completely unexpected.
Our Art & Craft Gatherings are about much more than making things. They are about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, encouraging creativity, building friendships and enjoying time in a welcoming, relaxed environment.
You don’t need to be an experienced artist or crafter. Whether you are a beginner, an enthusiastic creator or simply someone who enjoys being around creative people, there is a place for you here.
What Happens at Our Gatherings?
Each gathering offers an opportunity to explore creativity, learn something new and enjoy the company of others.
At every gathering, we also offer a demonstration, introducing a creative technique, project or idea to inspire you. These demonstrations are an opportunity to discover new skills and possibilities, and you are welcome to participate or simply watch and learn.
There is no pressure to complete a project or create something perfect. We believe the enjoyment comes from the creative journey itself.
We also encourage the sharing of skills, experiences and ideas. Sometimes the simplest suggestion or conversation can inspire something wonderful.
Materials and Supplies
At Recycled Creations, we supply most of the materials and items needed for our gatherings, including a variety of recycled, repurposed and reusable treasures to inspire your creativity.
You are also welcome to bring along your own materials, unfinished projects or unwanted items that you would like to give new life.
Some additional or specialty craft materials may be available for purchase.
Our aim is to make creativity accessible, affordable and enjoyable for everyone, without the need to invest in lots of expensive supplies.
Just bring yourself, your imagination and a willingness to explore something new!
A Little Mindfulness Goes a Long Way
We want Recycled Creations to be a safe, comfortable and inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed, respected and valued.
To help us create this environment, we ask everyone to follow a few simple guidelines.
1. Kindness and Respect
Please treat everyone with kindness, patience, courtesy and understanding. We all come from different backgrounds, have different abilities and bring our own life experiences.
We encourage positive conversations, respect for different opinions and an atmosphere free from judgement, bullying or discrimination.
2. Be Mindful of Fragrances and Scents
Some members of our community may be living with illness, undergoing medical treatments or managing health conditions that make them particularly sensitive to fragrances and strong smells.
We kindly ask that you avoid wearing perfumes, colognes, strongly scented lotions or other fragranced products when attending our gatherings.
This small act of consideration can make a significant difference to someone’s comfort and wellbeing.
Please also check before using strongly scented craft products or materials.
3. Everyone Belongs
We welcome people of all backgrounds, ages, abilities and levels of creative experience.
Some people may be outgoing and chatty, while others prefer a quieter experience. Some may be managing personal challenges or health concerns that are not immediately visible.
We ask everyone to respect individual differences, personal space and boundaries, and to help create an atmosphere where nobody feels excluded.
4. Sharing and Supporting Each Other
We love seeing people exchange ideas, offer encouragement and help one another.
Please respect other people’s materials, tools and creative work, and ask permission before borrowing or using anything belonging to someone else.
5. A Safe and Enjoyable Creative Space
Please help keep our shared workspaces tidy and safe, use tools and materials responsibly, and be considerate of those around you.
Most importantly, relax, enjoy yourself and remember that creativity is not a competition.
Our Philosophy
At Recycled Creations, we believe that everything has potential.
An old piece of fabric, a broken necklace, a forgotten picture frame or a discarded household item may be the beginning of something wonderful.
And just as we see potential in unwanted objects, we also recognise the unique creativity, knowledge and life experiences that every person brings to our gatherings.
We are not simply recycling materials. We are sharing stories, building connections, encouraging creativity and discovering new possibilities together.
